Iamwealthytoday.com is built on the premise that we can all live and feel wealthy every day of our lives. Can you imagine living a happy and enjoyable life every day? Without any negative feelings or any ups or downs, in fact, a life of all ups. You would be energetic every day, you would wake up because you want to wake up not because you have to. Here are the three tips to make your life wealthy every day.
1. Work only on what you enjoy
If you are involved in a project you love and enjoy, then time passes by. You would be focused, you wouldn’t even feel tired and you would go on for hours non-stop. How would you feel if you were doing something you don’t like? Probably very dissatisfied and maybe even resentful. The key is to make everything you do enjoyable either by enjoying what you do, or why you do it.
Most of the work I do now, I enjoy very much. I love what I do or I love why I do it. The latter is harder to manage and takes practice. If I don’t like to do a specific task, I look at why I am doing it. If I have enough why’s then it feels much easier and enjoyable to do. For example if I don’t like routine document reviews, I do soul searching for what I like which comes to creating things and starting new projects. So now transfer the review tasks to mini reviewing “improvement” projects. So instead of just doing the review, I challenge myself to build a project to step up the review process and the value coming out from it by 50%. This makes dreadful tasks more motivating and more challenging. For me I have to make these tricks for routine and administrative tasks, you might have other tasks that need their own tricks. Transfer what you don’t like to something you like. Brainstorm of what are the most enjoyable tasks you usually do, make a system to transfer all tasks to “look” and “feel” like those tasks and enjoy doing them every day. Life is too short to keep doing the things you don’t enjoy or like.
2. Work and socialize with people you like
Make an inventory of all your friends and give a 5 star rating for people you enjoy being with most. Try to build a solid relationship with these people and force yourself to continuously invest in these relationships – they will be your worthwhile. If you spend your time with the people you enjoy much, then you will enjoy most of your time. Get rid of demanding relationships that leave you energy less and leave you without ability to do anything else enjoyable. Give a friend you haven’t seen in some time a call and go out for a meal with him/her. This will rebuild an important and rewarding relationship that has been dead for some time.
What about family? Well, family is different. You simply cannot choose the family to be around with. However, you can make your family enjoyable as much as you like them to be, by simply investing in them. If you invest your time and your energy to make them happy and to make them feel wealthy every day (you can refer them to this website J), then, they will love you back and enjoy being with you which will be more rewarding than any other thing you do. Investing in family can be very cheap. The simple act of giving your family your full attention and smile at them can be the best thing you do for them all day long. Knowing you are there for them anytime they need you can give them the ultimate feeling of security and happiness. This way you can improve your relationship with your family tenfold.
Another something that has helped me improve my life and my relationship with my family considerably is sharing my successes. I am usually busy with a million things, real estate, writing, starting up businesses, full time job and several volunteering works. One lessons-learned that I have been able to use and benefit from continually is sharing goals and successes with my family. When I achieve a small success in any of my endeavors, I share the success with my family and we celebrate together. Celebration can be very simple as long as it is genuine. Sometimes a candy distribution is all there is. It depends on the situation. Since I started doing this with my family and my staff, everyone has become more supportive, more understanding of what I do and they enjoy me working hard and late because they “understand” what I am doing and best of all they feel part of it.
3. Continuously improve your work and fun locations
Your working location is very important. Think of improvements in your work location as investments. Identify the top improvements that could be done to your working location and prioritize them by the return on investment expected. Any amount you spend should give you back double it’s cost and more. This will help you identify what would really help you become more efficient and what will help you enjoy your work more for better productivity. Your ability to continually improve where you are working and improve your productivity will yield very high results. If you don’t know where to start, think of improving your work chair for your home office or business office. If you are working in a job, try to get approval for a better chair. It’s worth every dime you spend and every minute you spend negotiating that upgrade. If you are like most of us, desk workers, you simply spend over 100 hours on your desk every week, get a good chair. Next would be your computer screen, mouse and keyboard or desk tray. These are simple but very powerful improvements to your work life once you upgrade them. They will make you feel great, healthy, productive and will be able to work better and more efficient.
Also improve your FUN location. You should have a good fun system at home. All work is no fun and if you go home and work some more, then life can be really boring for the people around you. You should invest in some good entertainment systems, if not for you, then for your family. You should all be able to enjoy “time” at home with common activities. Try to limit your expenses in this field to one time- expenses rather than continuous subscriptions. Buying a free to air satellite dish is better than subscribing to 300 cable channels, etc.
Consider a good gaming system can be a fun way to play with your family and challenge your mental abilities. A quick challenging game can make you alert again and help improve your reflexes and ability to think and can make a dull weekend into a fun and energetic one. Some new game consoles require physical movement and can be a good exercise.
Live wealthy every day. If you like it, share it.

Good post Tarik,
I agree with most of your points, except the last one. Watching tv or playing video games can be a good “fun” activity, but I don’t see them helping you to be more wealthy. In fact, likely the opposite. How about getting outside for some exercise with your family or playing educational board games like Monopoly or Cashflow. That way you’re having fun, and doing something that’s to your benefit.
Best of Success,

Hi Dan,
You are right, in fact we play Monopoly and Cashflow all the time. They are the best.
However, do you ever feel sluggish and not like doing anything? Did you try to play the new wii boxing with a 7 year old? Man! It pumps oxygen to the brain like no other. Try writing a blog post after a wii sports game or a challenging game on PS3.
TV is another story – I believe it’s mostly good for down time.
